For the 2016 Air Jordan Retros design Tinker Hatfield carried over some elements from the previous Air Jordan; but also incorporated a variety of new ones including a reflective tongue, translucent rubber soles and lace locks. The highlight of the shoe was the shark teeth-shaped design along the midsole, which drew inspiration from a World War 2 fighter plane. This sneaker set new trends which we saw in later Air Jordan models. The new Air Jordan 5 hit shelves in 1990, maintaining the mesh side panels from its predecessor, but taking another bold step with its look — including the first appearance of a translucent sole on a Jordan signature sneaker. Tinker Hatfield drew inspiration from World War II-era fighter planes when he implements the infamous “shark-teeth” look into its design along the midsole.
Inspired by World War 2 aircraft, Tinker Hatfield constructed a genius silhouette composed of high-grade elements that make the Cheap Jordans 2016. Exuberant in an asymmetrical collar and sculpted midsole, the Air Jordan 5 is praised highly in the Jordan series. The shoe debuted at a perfect time MJ was at his best in his career. Since the original release of the Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic” the shoe has become one of the more popular Air Jordan 5 releases from Jordan Brand. The Nike Air Jordan 5 OG “Black Metallic” will be returning as part of Jordan Brand’s big lineup for 2016. Dressed in a Black, Fire Red, Metallic Silver, and White color scheme. This Air Jordan 5 features an all Black upper, with the classic mesh on the side panels, and the 3M reflective tongues. Some other noticeable features includes clear lace locks, Fire Red accents, clear outsole, and the original Nike Air logo on the back heel where the typical Jumpman logo appears, as well as on the insoles. The Air Jordan 5 Retro Low Men's Shoe brings back the original inspired by WWII fighting planes, featuring a low-cut profile and premium leather. A neoprene inner sleeve gives you a snug, comfortable feel.
Newest Jordans 2016, The Air Jordan 5 Retro returned in 2014 for a one-off release with its third ‘3LAB5’ colorway. As Jordan Brand celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan in 2015, the AJ V will make a comeback. Expect to see both new and old colorways release, remastered for the first time. So while you wait for the next Air Jordan 5 Retro to drop, take a look at the history of the Air Jordan V from its first release up to the most recent retro below. Originally released in 1990, the Air Jordan V dropped in four colorways. It was inspired by a World War 2 Mustang fighter jet and features a reflective 3M tongue, mesh netting on the tongue and side panels as well as a unique set of lace locks. They were retroed for the first time in 2000 and were the first Air Jordan Retro of the new millennium. This run lasted from January to July with four colorways releasing, two original and two new Retro+ colorways. The black and metallic silver colorway was also the final Air Jordan 5 Retro to feature ‘Nike Air’ branding. The Air Jordan 5 Low borrows a very familiar color scheme from its original high-top counterpart for this “Fire Red” edition. Exactly the same OG colorway of the standard Air Jordan 5 that you know, love, and saw on Michael Jordan’s feet back in 1990, the new low-top features a white leather upper with black and Fire Red accents throughout.
