Air Jordan 11 in Knicks colors? Might be J.R. Smith’s dream shoe. This custom Air Jordan 11 "Knicks" by Zay Free looks like it could be one of Quentin Richardson’s PEs. Using the recently released White/Black-True Red 11 as a canvas, this custom features an all-black upper with Knickerbocker branding, a royal blue midsole, and orange traction pads on the outsole to create a sneaker that would probably get Spike Lee and Carmelo Anthony’s approval.
The New York Knicks made a few moves this offseason; drafting Michigan guard, Tim Hardaway, Jr., re-signing the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, JR Smith and acquiring (via trade) former Raptors center, Andrea Bargnani. Not to mention that Ewing Athletics is holding things down for the Big Apple and the Knicks. Zay Free brings more of the City That Never Sleeps to the Air Jordan collection, specifically the Air Jordan 11 "Knicks". Black mesh creates the upper of the sneaker while a matte black takes over for the patent leather. Blue makes up the midsole while orange fills in the mainstays of the translucent outsole. Michael Jordan’s name being left off the varsity roster serves as inspiration for all High School hopefuls looking to make the team this time of year, but this particular fall we’ve been graced with the anticipation of the Air Jordan V "Laney" returning to store shelves. One of the first sneakers to take inspiration from a player’s history dating all the way back to High School, the shoe features a simple all white upper while royal accents on the tongue and midsole are offset by a bright varsity maize and black.
The classic Air Jordan 5 "Laney" last made its release over a decade ago in the year 2000 but they will be making a return later this year for the Holiday season. The sneaker sports a White leather base that adds in additional Yellow/Blue accents for the Laney High School colors.
